Welcome to LSI’s Early Childhood Services — where every family’s journey into parenthood is supported with compassionate, research-based care. Becoming a new parent can feel overwhelming, and LSI understands that the earliest years of a child’s life lay the foundation for lifelong growth and well-being. Through in-home support, group connections, and tailored resources, our programs are designed to empower families from pregnancy through early childhood, helping parents build confidence, nurture healthy development, and connect with the community around them. From personalized home visits to support conversations and parent education, LSI walks beside you every step of the way as your family thrives.
Our Early Childhood Services
HOPES Home Visiting
Available to parents during pregnancy until their child is 5 years old. We’ll support your family with parenting strategies, activities to help your child meet milestones, community resources, and more.
HOPES Support Conversations
From wondering “Am I pregnant?” to asking “What do I need to know?” to questioning how to put together a crib, we are here to talk through your pregnancy questions and provide support. Through virtual and in person one-on-one sessions, we can help you prepare for labor, create a birth plan, explore healthy pregnancy tips, connect to local resources, and more*. *LSI is not able to offer medical advice.
HOPES Villages
At LSI, we know it truly takes a village. We’re here to help you find your village as you prepare for the birth of your baby and when they are born. Our HOPES Villages are support groups for new and expectant parents offered both virtually and in-person.

No. Our programs are free and do not require insurance. Our goal is to make support available to as many families as possible during pregnancy and the first year with a new baby.
There is no cost to participate in HOPES programs. These services are supported through community partnerships and funding so families can receive support without financial stress.
Our programs are available to families across Iowa who are pregnant or parenting a baby. Whether this is your first baby or not, you are welcome here. Our goal is to meet families where they are and provide support that fits their needs.
You can join while you are pregnant, and many families find it helpful to start early. Pregnancy is a great time to learn, ask questions, and build support before your baby arrives. You are also welcome to join after your baby is born.
Many of our services are available virtually, which allows families across the state to participate. Some home visiting services are offered in specific counties. If you are unsure what is available where you live, we are happy to help you find the best option.
