Spencer, Iowa—Lutheran Services in Iowa’s (LSI) Family Development and Self Sufficiency Program (FaDSS) has earned the Iowa Family Support Credential from Iowa’s Department of Management.
The LSI program, based in Spencer, is one of only 27 Iowa programs to earn this honored distinction.
The Iowa Family Support Credential is awarded to family support and parent education programs that are validated through an external review process. These programs meet the Iowa Family Support Standards, which indicate the highest level of quality services that will result in positive outcomes for children and families.
LSI’s FaDSS program offers family support and parent education services to approximately 40 families a year in Clay, Dickinson, Osceola and O’Brien Counties in Iowa.
“We’re so honored to receive the Iowa Family Support Credential,” said Carly Caravan, LSI program supervisor. “Our goal is always to help families and children achieve the best outcomes possible, and it’s wonderful to have LSI’s commitment to high-quality services honored.”
LSI’s FaDSS program helps participating families identify college and vocational opportunities, improve employment readiness, find parenting resources, access community resources and more. FaDSS is designed to help families utilizing state assistance reach personal goals while moving toward self-sufficiency.
