Theisen's awards grants to five LSI programs
Dubuque, Iowa – Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) recently received five grants from local Theisen’s stores across Iowa for early childhood programs and for client assistance for basic needs. The grants included:
• Charles City - $1,000 for LSI’s Floyd County Families Together, a program that strengthens families and prevents child abuse
• Ames - $1,148 for LSI’s Story County Crisis Child Care, which offers free, short-term child care to families who are in crisis and have no options for child care
• Tipton - $2,000 for LSI’s Cedar County Brief Intensive Services, which helps boys and girls age birth to 17 who may be at risk of out-of-home placement
• Anamosa - $1,800 to LSI’s New Parent Program in Jones County, which helps strengthen families and prevent child abuse
• Dubuque - $1,000 to LSI’s Dubuque site for a Necessity Pantry to help clients needing assistance with basic needs
Theisen’s first opened in Dubuque in 1927 and currently operates stores in Ames, Anamosa, Cedar Rapids, Charles City, Dewitt, Dubuque, Dyersville, Grinnell, Iowa Falls, Maquoketa, Marshalltown, Monticello, New Hampton, Newton, Pella, Tipton and Vinton.
LSI impacts the lives of tens of thousands of Iowans annually through residential treatment, services to families, home health care, early childhood programs, adoption/foster care services, refugee resettlement, services for people with disabilities, disaster response initiatives and Barnabas Uplift.
